Shri S. M. Shah Law College was established and started by Sardar Vidya Bhavan Trust, Mehsana. It is a premier academic organization in the region of North Gujarat where the students mainly come from poor economic, educational and social background. In the beginning the Arts and Commerce Colleges were under the one name. But in 1986, it was bifurcated; established Shri S. M. Shah Law College came into existence as a separate law college. The college has been developing more and more since then and it has been the largest Law College affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan and approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi.
The
Law College has a separate Central Library used by faculties and students as
well as research scholars. The college has a large space around the building
and in it have been developed garden, lawn and large parking for staff as well
as for students. The college also tries to develop the multi-faced personality
of its students by offering them the chances to join different cultural and
extra-curricular activities.
Our college offers Graduation & Post Gradation course in U.G - 3 years L.L.B. , P.G (LL.M.) - 2 years Business law and Criminal law. The library is one of the richest ones among colleges of the North Gujarat University. The library is fully computerized with SOUL 2.0 software and enriched with E-Journals. The library is registered with N-List. Library has also subscribed other E-Journals. There is a facility of “Books on Demand” and “Poor Boy Library”.
